Researchers move closer to cocaine vaccine

U.S. researchers are developing a vaccine to treat people with cocaine addiction. The vaccine aims to stimulate the immune system to recognize the drug and create antibodies to bind with the cocaine and prevent it from reaching the brain. The researchers are awaiting FDA approval to begin a multi-institutional trial.
