Robot's use expanded to gynecological surgeries

Surgeons at Rhode Island's Miriam Hospital are planning to extend the use of the da Vinci Surgical System, a surgical robot that allows for more precise, minimally invasive surgery. The hospital is partnering with Women & Infants Hospital to let specialists use the system to perform gynecological surgeries, following approval from the state's Health Department in November.
