Recent financial scandals will almost certainly lead to more regulation, but will that be enough to stop future scandals? "Unless we become a totalitarian society, we can't regulate all aspects of our lives," says Turney Stevens of Lipscomb University. Instead, he advocates a greater emphasis on ethics in business. "If you think about the greater good and sacrificing the short-term gain for the longer-term health of the company ... you'll get abundant returns on your investment," he says.
