Mass. bill aims to fix or remove unsafe dams

Massachusetts lawmakers have approved a measure to spend $17 million for efforts to fix or remove unsafe and out-of-use dams and to improve coastal infrastructure. "In the aftermath of the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy, it is clear that we cannot afford to have an underdeveloped or out-of-date flood-prevention infrastructure," bill co-sponsor Sen. Marc Pacheco said in a statement.
