Retargeting pulls online ad dollars away from newspapers

Advertisers are finding the audience they want on targeted online sites such as newspapers and business-to-business publications but then, with that data in hand, going to less expensive general media sites to reach the same audience. As a result of such retargeting, newspapers and business-to-business news sites are falling behind in the competition for a share of the growing pot of ad dollars spent online.
