Kan. board asked to reverse decision on diet sodas in schools

The Kansas State Board of Education is being asked by Pepsi-Cola of Topeka to reverse its position against selling low-calorie sodas in schools. The board adopted the position as part of its model wellness policy, which local school boards can choose to follow. Officials with Pepsi-Cola say the company already has taken steps to promote healthier beverages in schools and that the limit on low-calorie sodas will affect revenue.
