Emergency department provides faster care with IT system

The emergency department of a medical center in Washington state has installed a computer program that allows department staff to order lab work and medication from patients' bedsides, track patients and treat patients with more standardization. The T-SystemEV 2.6 saves up to one hour of patient waiting time during busy hours, a Kadlec Medical Center official said.
