FDA seeks N.C. regulator's aid in food-safety system

The FDA has sought the help of the North Carolina Department of Agriculture to develop a better system for ensuring the safety of the country's food supply. North Carolina, which has helped monitor imported and domestic products since 2005, is among the five states that the agency has tapped to help with its response to recent food-safety scares.
