Scotland approves plan for bridge over waterway

The regional government of Scotland will build a multi-span cable-stayed road bridge over the Firth of Forth waterway. The project, which will include provision for a future mass transit, will cost up to $8.4 billion. The new bridge will augment and ultimately replace a 43-year-old adjacent suspension bridge.
