Duke Energy's plan for solar panels receives state approval

Duke Energy has received approval to place solar panels on hundreds of North Carolina rooftops. The utility created the plan as part of an effort to meet state renewable energy requirements, and it expects to generate enough electricity to power 1,300 homes. The $50 million project should be completed within two years.
