TV maker Vizio aims low-cost strategy at tablets, phones

Vizio, which carved a profitable niche by producing low-cost TV sets, will try to duplicate that success in the wireless arena with the introduction this week of an Android-based tablet computer and smartphone aimed at consumers who are looking for less-expensive alternatives to Apple products. Also this week, laptop maker Lenovo will release a pair of tablets, according to published reports.
