Ford Gum celebrates sticking around for a century

Roofing salesman Ford S. Mason started Ford Gum and Machine Co. in 1913 to add to his income, borrowing money to lease 102 gumball machines that he placed in western New York stores. Today, the company claims to be the only maker of gumballs in the U.S., and is a leader in the bulk vending industry.
