Germany to provide language training to qualified job seekers

Educated workers from southern European countries that are struggling with high unemployment would seem like a perfect match for Germany's bustling economy, where there are job openings for engineers, IT specialists, nurses and doctors. However, too few of these prospective employees can speak German, and companies aren't willing to compromise on the requirement. This situation has led the German Federal Employment Agency to invest in programs to help prepare European workers to enter the German job market.
