NYC advances plan to build world's largest Ferris wheel

A plan to build a 625-foot-tall amusement ride on Staten Island in New York City advances despite the challenges created by Superstorm Sandy. The "world's largest Ferris wheel" will be designed to "withstand sustained winds up to 129 mph, far stronger than Sandy's." The nearly $500 million project, which includes construction of an outlet mall and hotel, is expected to create 1,200 construction jobs.
