Shell says it can still operate safely after grounding of rig

Royal Dutch Shell remains confident that it is capable of operating safely after one of its drilling rigs in Alaska ran aground after breaking free of its tow line during a storm, spokesman Curtis Smith said. "We encountered severe weather basically all summer long in the Arctic," he said. "While it was challenging, the personnel and the assets and the rigs performed very well."
