Shelter uses social media to fund animal treatments

In an effort to provide specialty care for animal shelter residents that might otherwise be euthanized, Dallas Animal Services is using social media to raise money to fund specific procedures. The effort, which directs people to a website where they can donate, already raised the funds needed to repair a puppy's broken leg. "I think it's very powerful for the public because it's a very tangible thing they're donating to," said veterinarian Cate McManus.
