Teachers contribute to children's care at Tenn. hospital

Teachers at Vanderbilt University Medical Center's children's hospital in Nashville, Tenn., coordinate with local school systems to ensure students with illnesses do not fall behind academically. Working full-time for the hospital, the two staff teachers, who both are certified to teach special education, are part of the team of doctors and nurses who develop a child's plan of care. "It's really important that when they return to school they feel good about where they're at," teacher Tina Woods said.
