Texas considers regulation of dental management firms

A Texas bill would clarify the definition of a dental services organization, require the firms to register with the State Board of Dental Examiners and prohibit DSOs from influencing treatment decisions made by dentists. The bill would also subject DSOs to oversight and regulation by the Board of Dental Examiners; however, DSO supporters say the new measures are not needed.
