EPA releases final rule on carbon capture

The Environmental Protection Agency has finalized its regulations that cover the implementation of carbon capture and sequestration technology. The rule will be published today in the Federal Register. "EPA expects that this amendment will substantially reduce the uncertainty associated with identifying these [carbon dioxide] streams under RCRA subtitle C, and will also facilitate the deployment of (geologic sequestration) by providing additional regulatory certainty," according to the rule.
