Nearly 1 in 3 new jobs through 2022 are projected to be in health care

As large numbers of baby boomers retire over the next decade, the proportion of Americans in the job market will fall to its lowest levels since the mid-1970s, according to Labor Department projections. Millions of jobs in the health care sector are expected to emerge as a part of the changing employment landscape. The nation's employment is expected to increase by 15.6 million jobs from 2012 to 2022, and nearly 1 in 3 of those positions are expected to be in health care.
