Industry: Cord blood stem cells no sub for embryonic stem cells

Industry officials say President George W. Bush's recent funding approval for cord blood-based stem cell research is not an alternative to embryonic stem cell research. Jim Greenwood, CEO of BIO, says there is valid research to be done with cord blood stem cells, but embryonic stem cells "are extraordinarily important for medical research."
