Scientists develop non-animal medium for stem cells

U.S. scientists say they developed a stem cell culture medium devoid of animal cells, thereby removing concern of viruses and other potential problems linked to animal-cell media. The scientists used the new medium to derive two new human embryonic stem cell lines.
