British advocate for corporate reforms calls for transparency in PE

Derek Higgs, author of the 2003 report that led to corporate-governance reforms in the U.K., is predicting that private equity funds will be forced to open themselves up to shareholder scrutiny. "There is an issue of how to make sure that the positive benefits of superior corporate governance are aligned with what the private equity people would say are the positive features of the purest form of capitalism," Higgs told the Financial Times.
