Economists: Solid fundamentals will help commercial real estate

Although 2008 likely will be a sluggish year for the commercial real estate sector, solid fundamentals will continue to attract buyers, such as REITs, institutions and foreign investors, according to economists. "Our outlook is realistic and hopeful that the economy can avoid a recession," said Bob Bach, Grubb & Ellis' senior vice president and chief economist. "But this is with the caveat that it is possible."
