Districts in Ohio county to pay more in special-education costs

School districts in Ohio's Hamilton County will have pay more to provide education and transportation for students with disabilities who attend schools run by the county's disability agency. Costs to districts are expected to rise in the fall from $19,346 per student to $32,340 each because of reduced funding from a local tax levy and rising special-education costs. Close to 75% of the nearly $60,000-per-pupil educational cost had been subsidized by the agency.
