FAA ramps up AA oversight after botched landings

Over the course of less than two weeks, American Airlines experienced three landing incidents. The botched landings have prompted the Federal Aviation Administration to bolster its oversight of the carrier. "Where there may be several incidents involving a single carrier over a short period of time, FAA inspectors increase their oversight, which we're doing now, and conduct a review of those events to determine whether they might be indicative of a larger issue," an FAA representative said.
