Statewide initiative is recruiting mentors for Indiana students

The nonprofit Indiana Youth Institute is coordinating the Indiana Mentoring Partnership, a statewide campaign to help existing programs recruit mentors for the thousands of children on their waiting lists. "Education is the key, but schools can't do it all," Gov. Mitch Daniels said. "It begins at home, and in those instances where children fall behind despite the best efforts of their parents and teachers, mentors can play a vital role in encouraging children to realize their potential."
