Teacher training at University of Michigan emphasizes classroom skills

The University of Michigan School of Education has been gradually overhauling its teacher-training program, with an increased focus on the problem-solving skills teachers need in the classroom. The revised program not only changes the content teachers-in-training learn but also focuses on the classroom experience, allowing students to visit local schools to observe teachers and see typical obstacles firsthand.
