BASF invests $30 million in maker of nonfood biomass fuel

BASF has invested $30 million in Renmatix, a company that produces fuel and chemicals from nonfood biomass treated with supercritical water. Renmatix is testing the method in a pilot plant in the hopes of applying it in different facilities capable of making glucose and xylose sugars from 100,000 tons of nonfood biomass per year.
