What were the top issues in education technology for 2011?

State policies to expand students' access to digital learning, as well as a debate over funding technology initiatives at the federal level, were among the top five themes in education technology last year, according to writer Ian Quillen. Others include the increasing use of iPad tablet computers in education and the resistance by some to the growth of virtual learning, particularly that which is driven by for-profit companies.
