Flight attendants at American Airlines are on the brink of approving a merger with US Airways, according to the union representing the flight attendants. "A merger is the best thing for the company, the unions and the passengers," said the president of the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, Laura Glading. Pilots at American Airlines recently approved a merger. American responded that the carrier is "actively engaged" in merger talks, but has not made a final decision.
