History of Idaho's backcountry airstrips is featured in book

Richard H. Holm Jr.'s new book, "Bound for the Backcountry: A History of Idaho's Remote Airstrips," looks back at the pilots and planes of almost 100 isolated airstrips in Idaho. Pilot Dick Waite, who has flown over Idaho for 67 years, said, "It's very, very good and comprehensive of the origination of a lot of ranches." The 557-page hardcover is available from Cold Mountain Press for $59.95.
