Iowa implements statewide plan for STEM education

Students in Iowa are getting more access to science, technology, engineering and math as the state's STEM initiative continues to be implemented in schools. The $5 million investment encourages students to tackle challenges and understand that failure, which is part of the learning process, can lead to greater success down the road. "STEM isn't about science, technology, engineering and math in isolation," said Kari Webb, manager for the northwest Iowa region of STEM. "It's an integrated approach to problem solving and 21st century skills."
