US online shoppers spent 14% more on the holidays

US online shoppers spent around $42.3 billion during the 2012 holiday season, according to a comScore analysis, up 14% from the previous year's total. Thanksgiving and "Free Shipping Day" saw particularly strong sales, although the end of December was relatively weak for online retailers.
