The San Francisco Unified School District addresses students' stress through quiet time and meditation, and the district has reported reductions in disciplinary actions. At a time when educators report high levels -- and consequences -- of student stress, the urban California school district has been leading students in meditation exercises since 2007, and many schools hold twice-daily "quiet time" exercises.
