N.J. tables stem cell measures; issue may top 2006 Mo. politics

New Jersey's effort to provide about $580 million in support for stem cell research in the state appears to be dead for this year as the legislative session winds down with little time left to act. In Missouri, a new legislative session begins with five stem cell-related measures on file and the possiblity of a November ballot measure to protect stem cell researchers from bans on their work, although some legislators are hoping to tone down the rhetoric and limit debate on the subject.
