Study: Chemo delivery through abdominal catheter extends survival

A new study suggests chemotherapy for treating ovarian cancer increases the survival time of patients if it is delivered through a catheter in the abdomen rather than intravenously. Researchers report in the New England Journal of Medicine the change in delivery methods for women with the third stage of ovarian cancer extended survival time by an average of nearly 16 months.
