Proposed California Home Depot raises concern about wetlands

Residents of Long Beach, Calif., are protesting a city council approval of a retail center anchored by a Home Depot. The project would be the first big-box store built in the coastal zone of Los Angeles and Orange counties, and the California Coastal Commission is due to hear appeals from neighbors and others who are concerned about the store's impact on the nearby Los Cerritos Wetlands.
