N.J. awaits outcome of policy on flu shots for children

New Jersey officials will soon find out whether parents are complying with a new state law that mandates flu vaccinations for children between 6 months and 5 years old who go to licensed preschool and day-care centers. The policy bars children who failed to get the shots from attending such programs, unless they show proof that they will get immunized within two weeks after the deadline, which was Wednesday, the state's Health Department said.
