Chrome add-on ad blockers create conundrum for Google

When Google designed its Chrome browser to allow extension programs, programmers were quick to create ad-blocking offerings -- which go against Google's core revenue source. "It's unlikely ad blockers are going to get to the level where they imperil the advertising market, because if advertising is so annoying that a large segment of the population wants to block it, then advertising should get less annoying," Google's Linus Upson said.
