Dog in New York tests positive for H1N1

A mixed breed dog in New York is the first in the U.S. to be confirmed positive for H1N1 flu. While the dog reportedly contracted the virus from its owner, there is no indication that pets can transmit the flu to humans, according to Michael San Filippo, a spokesman for AVMA. "In theory it could happen, but so far it's really looking like a dead end in pets," San Filippo added.
