Interscholastic league offers inclusive team sports

The Allied Sports program is an interscholastic high-school athletic league for students with special needs in Maryland's Baltimore County schools. Modeled after the Special Olympics, Allied Sports was formed in 1994 and provides three seasons of sports to teams made up of students with and without special needs. In line with the rules of traditional high-school sports teams, Allied Sports requires students to meet academic requirements to be eligible and attend regular practices after school.
