National Board Certification changes teacher's outlook

A new National Board Certified Teacher in New York said the process made her think of herself as an educator, rather than a classroom teacher, and also improved her teaching. "It causes you to really take a step back and look at everything you do and how that impacts everybody involved in the learning community -- children, their parents, support staff, other teachers and administrators," she said. "Basically, it comes down to how the things you do impact the lives of your students as learners and human beings."
