Reunion 20 years in the making is gratifying for former teacher

Twenty years ago, a now-retired Washington state elementary-school teacher pledged to reunite with his students for New Year's Day 2010. Richard Lewis said he was so impressed with that group of third-graders that he wanted to see them as adults. Lewis said the reunion was gratifying because he saw firsthand the effect he had on his students. "It's like finally I get in the end zone, and I get to throw the ball to the ground, and it's like I did it, I did it, I actually did it!" he said.
