Wash. law imposes tougher standards on dog breeders

A law in Washington state that is designed to eliminate puppy mills took effect Friday. The law makes it illegal to own or have custody of more than 50 dogs capable of breeding and over the age of 6 months, and lists care requirements, including the size of the dogs' cages, temperature and cleanliness.
