Blog: AMR cash allows breathing room in bankruptcy

Unlike in the cases of United Airlines and Delta Air Lines, AMR Corp. filed for bankruptcy with more than $4 billion in cash, writes blogger William Swelbar. "That gives AMR and American some flexibility to run its business during the initial period of exclusivity, protect its interests and, most importantly, time to ensure that its ultimate plan of reorganization (POR) is the very best it can be," he writes.
