Traditional B2B media deals on the decline, report shows

Led by marketing and interactive deals, the value of mergers and acquisitions in the sector encompassing media, information, marketing services and technology rose 9% to $47 billion last year, per Jordan, Edmiston Group. The number of B2B online media deals increased by 3% last year, with a value increase of 132% compared with the year before, according to the firm. Yet, traditional B2B media deals declined 62%, representing a 91% drop in value to $50 million. The number of deals in the exhibitions and conferences space showed an increase, however.
