Why businesses must help universities to innovate

Businesses should work directly with universities to encourage innovation and integrate academic research and commercial priorities, says Tel Aviv University President Joseph Klafter. That can involve providing seed funding, helping researchers to commercialize their breakthroughs, or hiring students while they're in school. "Business plays an important part. ... It's a very direct way to support innovation," Klafter says.
