2 Ill. airports contribute $11 million to economy despite budget deficit

An Illinois Department of Transportation study has shown that Whiteside County Airport in Rock Falls and Dixon Municipal Airport contribute approximately $11 million per year to the local economy. Even though Whiteside generally has a deficit budget requiring the city to make up the difference, it is still a huge asset to the city, according to Al Hill, a member of the airport board.
