Bribery scandal might spell end for N.C. police department

Cherryville, N.C., is considering disbanding the Police Department after a bribery scandal led to the arrest of three officers. The City Council is compiling cost data and will decide this week. If the department is disbanded, the city plans to contract with Gaston County for law enforcement.
